PRP involves taking a blood sample, separating a platelet-rich portion and injecting it into the scalp. It requires individual suitability assessment, discussion of risks and realistic expectations.
Why does the appointment involve a blood sample?
The material used comes from your own blood. A centrifuge separates components so that a platelet-rich portion can be prepared. The practitioner should explain the system and steps used in the clinic; a simple description of the process is not a substitute for discussing the actual procedure you are considering.
Does using my own blood mean there are no risks?
No procedure should be described as risk-free. Sterile preparation and application are important, and health conditions or medicines can affect suitability. Ask about the risks relevant to the proposed treatment, the practitioner’s experience and what support is available if you have a problem afterwards.
What should I ask before agreeing?
Ask which concern the procedure is intended to address, why it is appropriate for you, the evidence and limitations, expected discomfort, preparation and aftercare. Discuss the number of sessions proposed and the total cost, including any maintenance. Take time to understand alternatives as well as the clinic option.
What does the clinic currently publish?
The individual PRP treatment price is £195. The clinic also publishes a £895 12-week programme that combines PRP and microneedling sessions with other care. These are service options to discuss after consultation; the existence of a programme does not mean that every person with thinning hair needs it.
Can I book just by completing the guided questions?
The online journey can point you towards relevant information and help organise a consultation enquiry. It cannot approve an invasive treatment or predict your response. Becky must discuss the appointment and suitability with you, and unexplained hair loss may need medical assessment before a clinic procedure is considered.
Does PRP hair treatment hurt?
Scalp injections can be uncomfortable. Tenderness, bruising and swelling are possible afterwards. Ask Becky how comfort is managed, what recovery advice applies and what symptoms should prompt you to contact the clinic. Do not assume a treatment is pain-free because it uses your own blood.
A conversation starts with you.
At our Hereford clinic, the consultation comes before treatment. We will talk through the appointment, suitability, risks, costs and the questions that matter to you. You do not need to arrive having already decided to go ahead.
